Queens Boy Through and Through
I was born and raised in Queens, NY. Richmond Hill to be exact and I now live in Flushing. I love this borough. It is a part of my soul. Queens made me who I am. I started my construction journey here when I was 16, working for a small remodeling company in Howard Beach. I was just a laborer working for a friends father that owned the business. I worked as a server and then as a cook for a time after being diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma at 24 years old. But the day I found out I was in remission I called an old boss of mine and told him I was ready to come back! It was off to the races from there. Framer, drywaller. Then deputy foreman. Soon after I became a foreman. I was a foreman for a couple different companies until I was hired as the manager of a general contracting company at 29 years old. I worked for them until I was 35. I had an amazing experience there but after covid I decided it was time to work for myself. It may have started in Howard Beach but I now work all over, from Astoria to Riverhead. This is blog 1 but I’m hoping to make this a regular habit. If you’ve read this far, I thank you. The story continues. See you on the next one.
